Short Term Accommodation

Short Term Accommodation (STA)

Comfortable, supported stays of up to 14 days — giving carers a break and participants the chance to enjoy new experiences in a safe environment.

A Home Away From Home?

Short Term Accommodation (STA) provides NDIS participants with a temporary stay in a comfortable, fully supported home. It’s designed to give primary carers a well-deserved break while ensuring participants receive quality care and enjoy meaningful activities.

Funded under NDIS Core Supports, STA covers accommodation, meals, personal care, and 24/7 support for up to 14 consecutive days. Our homes across South Australia offer a welcoming, homelike environment where participants can relax, socialise, and try new things.

Up to 14 Days

Each STA booking can be for up to 14 consecutive days, with multiple stays throughout the year depending on your NDIS funding.

Trained support workers are available around the clock to assist with personal care, daily tasks, and any needs that arise.

Common Questions About STA

Understanding STA funding and eligibility can be complex. Here are answers to the most common questions we receive.

Short-Term Accommodation is funded under NDIS Core Supports — Assistance with Daily Life (line item 01_058). Your plan needs to include STA funding, which covers accommodation, meals, and personal support. The current NDIS price guide sets a daily rate that covers 24-hour support. If STA isn’t in your current plan, we can help you request it at your next plan review or reassessment.

We recommend booking at least 2–4 weeks in advance to secure your preferred dates, especially during school holidays and peak periods. However, we do our best to accommodate shorter-notice requests when availability allows.

Bring personal clothing, toiletries, medications with clear instructions, any mobility or communication aids, and comfort items like a favourite pillow or photos. We provide all bedding, towels, meals, and activity supplies.

Absolutely. Family and friends are welcome to visit. We can arrange visiting times that work for everyone, and you’re always welcome to call and check in at any time.

All staff hold current first aid qualifications and follow individual health management plans. If anything concerning occurs, we contact the family immediately and seek medical attention if needed.

Yes. Our homes are fully accessible with wheelchair access, accessible bathrooms, hoisting equipment, adjustable beds, and sensory-friendly spaces. We match participants to the most suitable home based on their specific needs.
