Your Questions, Answered
Everything you need to know about respite care with Carers for Care — from funding to what's included.
NDIS funding typically covers up to 14 consecutive days at a time for Short Term Accommodation. Many participants use multiple STA bookings throughout the year — including during school holidays, long weekends or when their primary carer needs a break. Our team can help you plan your bookings to get the most from your NDIS plan.
Yes — all meals, morning tea and afternoon snacks are included. Our meals are freshly prepared on-site each day and tailored to your dietary requirements, cultural preferences and personal tastes. Just let us know your needs when you book and we'll handle the rest.
All Carers for Care support staff hold relevant Certificate III or IV in Disability or Individual Support, along with current First Aid and NDIS Worker Screening clearances. Many team members also carry specialist training in high-intensity support and complex health needs — so your loved one is always in safe, capable hands.
We understand carer needs don't always come with advance notice. Where availability allows, we do our best to accommodate emergency and short-notice bookings. Call our team and we'll do everything we can to find a solution quickly — no matter the circumstances.
Every stay includes 24/7 qualified support staff, all meals and snacks, a personalised activity program, safe door-to-door transport, fully furnished private accommodation with Wi-Fi, and daily family updates. We also coordinate clinical handovers and medication management — everything under one roof.
Absolutely. School holiday periods are one of our busiest times and we encourage families to book well in advance. We can help you plan recurring stays across multiple school holidays throughout the year — giving both you and your loved one something to look forward to every term.
Yes. Respite care (Short Term Accommodation) is funded under the Core Supports budget in your NDIS plan. If STA isn't currently included in your plan, speak with your Support Coordinator or LAC about requesting it at your next plan review. Our team is also happy to guide you through this process.
Yes — peer matching is a priority for us. We take time to understand your loved one's age, interests and personality before placing them in a shared respite environment. A good social fit makes for a far better stay, and we take that seriously at every booking.
